TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) said it would raise the maximum amount of investors' protection fund (DPP). The DPP, which is the money that investors can receive as restitution for lost assets, will be increased from the current Rp25 million to Rp200 million per every investor in one custodian.
In the next three months, the bourse authority will submit the raise proposal.
"This is one of the concrete ways to guarantee the safety of investors' fund," newly-appointed IDX director Tito Sulistio said.
Meanwhile, Securitirs Investor Protection Fund (SIPF/P3EI) president director Yoyok Isharyahya said the hike is aimed at increasing investors' confidence to place their money in Indonesia.
Investors who are entitled to have their assets protected are those who have securities invested in custodians, have securities sub-accounts in a depository and settlement institution (LPP), and have a single identity (SID) number.
