TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Approaching homecoming season and Eid al-Fitr, the Jakarta Health Department is scheduled to check the bus drivers' health who will serve the homecomers heading outside Jakarta. Not only that, the health posts for homecomers would also be set up in several bus terminals.
“We already held a ceremony in the Health Ministry. Bus drivers will undergo a medical-check up in Pulo Gadung, Kampung Rambutan, Pulo Gebang, Tanjung Priok and Kalideres Terminals,” said Head of Jakarta Health Department, Koesmedi Priharto at City Hall, Tuesday (6/30).
He said that the medical-check up includes urine and drug tests. It is slated begin on D-7 until D+7 of Eid al-Fitr.
“The service will be focused on bus drivers who will serve homecomers,” he stressed.
Priharto furthered, the medical result could be known on that day. If there are found unhealty drivers or consuming drugs, they will not be allowed to driver the homecoming buses.
Besides bus drivers, some health posts would be set up in some terminals for homecomers. Each post has five medical personnel.
“Homecomers can check their health first before leaving for homecoming,” he told.
He added that such posts will be set up in conjunction with homecoming post owned by Jakarta Transportation Department, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and police.
“So, each terminal will have posts from joint personnel,” he disclosed.
