TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government will revise the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) for 2016 because it has failed to promote equal welfare in regions accross the country.
The revision plan was put forward during the DAK policy coordination meeting held by the Finance Ministry's directorate general for financial balance on Monday, June 29, 2015.
"Various problems occur during DAK implementation, such as the lack of focus on funding infrastructure development in regions because off too many units or sub-units," said financial balance director general Boediarso Teguh Widodo.
In addition, many DAK funds were not in accordance with the needs of certain regions, and late issuance of technical instructions often caused a large amount of DAK left in regional treasury.
Boediarso hoped that the revision of the DAK policy could improve the welfare of Indonesian citizens.
