TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said four banks are set to deliver branchless banking services in the second half of this year, as part of the national inclusive financial program (Laku Pandai).
OJK chief Muliaman Hadad said that based on banks' business plans submitted earlier this year, there are four banks—conventional and sharia—that are ready to launch the Laku Pandai program. He did not mention the name of the banks.
According to Hadad, the four banks are among 17 that have filed for similar program licenses to the regulator.
As of mid-June, there are 31,000 agents ready to deliver the branchless banking service. The OJK hopes to have 100,000 agents woking once all 17 banks take part in the Laku Pandai program.
