Fishery Industry Gets Tax Allowance

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has determined that eight fisheries industries are entitled to fiscal incentives in the form of tax allowance.
Earlier, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti issued a regulation on the criteria and requirements for industries to obtain the rights to tax allowances for investment in the marine and fisheries sector.
Saut P. Hutagalung, director general of processing and marketing of fishery, said the eight industries are marine fish and freshwater fish breeding in floating nets; the frozen fish industry, ground fish meat and surimi; canned fish and non-shrimp aquatic biota processing and preservation; canned shrimp processing and preservation; frozen water biota; as well as the processing and preserving of other aquatic biota industry.
Saut said the rule also regulates the provision tax allowances to businesses related to the maritime sector. The businesses include ships and boats; industrial tools; ship equipment and parts; ship repair services; boats and floating structures, cargo handling/stevedoring; as well as tourism businesses.
