TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Marshall Agus Supriatna, the Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff, said that the crashed Hercules C-130 in Medan was carrying 101 people in its manifest in addition to 12 of the airplane crews. However, Agus has not received confirmation on the exact number of civilian casualties and military personnel.
Agus said that the passengers were heading to two different destinations, Tanjung Pinang and Pontianak. Agus said that none of the passengers nor crews survived the crash.
Agus added that search and rescue personnel have managed pulled out 43 bodies from the wreckage to be identified in Adam Malik Hospital. However, only 23 out of the total 43 bodies have been successfully identified.
