TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has finalized his evaluation of his cabinet leaving red marks for economic ministers, as well as political, defense and security minister. A number of ministers will reportedly be replaced.

The signal to replace economic ministers in the Working Cabinet was apparent when Jokowi met a number of economic experts at the State Palace on Monday, June 29, 2015. Tony Prasetiantono, an economist from Gadjah Mada University, said that some ministries were still underperformed.

“If Jokowi could find a qualified people, they will be inaugurated immediately,” Tony said echoing Jokowi’s comment during the meeting.

Jokowi gave red marks for Coordinating Economic Minister Sofyan Djalil for not being able to back the president’s programs related to macro-economy.

“The coordination between economic ministers was not good enough,” a staff at the State Palace said.

Sofyan Djalil said that he would be ready if he was on the reshuffle shortlist.

Another name on the shortlist was Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel, who was considered to be responsible for rice price hike to Rp 10,300 per kilogram, plastic rice and dwelling time at ports.

Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro actually did a good job in running the country’s finance. However, a staff at the State Palace said Jokowi was disappointed with Bambang’s method in communicating with the House of Representatives. Bambang was also considered to have a less political charisma compared to former finance ministers Agus Martowardojo and Sri Mulyani.

Other ministers with red marks include Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said due to issues related to negotiation with Freeport; National Development Planning Minister Andrinof Chaniago for not being able to translate Jokowi’s nine programs into the country’s development planning; Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdjiatno for his poor public communication skills; and State Apparatuses Empowerment and Bureaucracy Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi.
