TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Special Anti-Corruption Unit of the Attorney General Office (AGO) conducted a search at the State-Owned Enterprise (SEO) Ministry office. The search was made in relation to the alleged electric car corruption case, which was specially designed for the APEC event back in October 2013.
"We will search rooms [of officials] that are responsible for the electric cars," said Victor Antonius, Chief of the AGO’s Special Anti-Corruption Unit on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
Previously, the AGO has confiscated nine of the total 16 electric cars from a factory located in Pondok Rajek, Bogor, and one electric car from a factory located in Sawah Village, Depok.
The manufacturing of these 16 electric cars was believed to have caused Rp 32 billion of state losses because they were not made according to the initially proposed specification, and was considered to be too expensive. In addition to confiscating electric cars, investigators will also review the documents and data related to the production of the electric cars by PT Sarimas Ahmadi Pratama.
