TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama has officially opened the Rama and Shinta firing range at the Special Forces Commando Headquarter in Cijantung, East Jakarta.
Ahok said that he will provide support towards the development of supporting facilities for the Indonesian Armed Forces and the National Police. "The National Police and the Armed Forces have a valuable asset, which is land. Meanwhile [the Jakarta Government] has limited land to build sport facilities," Ahok said on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Ahok said that one of the advantages of constructing sports facilities on military or police-owned land is that the management will be handled by the two institutions. Ahok said that the Armed Force and the National Police will be able to manage the facility well compared to the Jakarta government technical management unit.
Commander of the Special Forces Major General Doni Monardo said that the new firing range will be used by his soldiers for quick and accurate shooting practice. Doni added and that the firing range will be open to public.
