TEMPO.CO, Singapore - The myths and controversy surrounding the life and death of the ancient Egypt Queen Cleopatra has inspired Marc Restellini, the founder of Singapore Pinacotheque de Paris Museum, to hold art exhibition entitled “The Myth of Cleopatra”. The exhibition is being held at The Features Gallery of the Singapore Pinacotheque de Paris Museum starting from May 30 to October 11.
Not less than 200 of artifacts, sculptures, paintings, cines, properties and opera equipments are dsiplayed in the giant room. The objects are collections from a number of museums in Italy, including Musée national d'Archéologie, Naples.
Marc Restellini told Tempo when met at the museum in Fort Canning, Singapore, on Thursday May 28, that Cleopatra is famed myth and legend of the past centuries despite her modest facial beauty. The queen mastered many laguages and became the only genius queen who exercise modern politics.
Marc, a graduate from The Universitie Pantheon-Sorbonne, also believes that Cleopatra is a mysterious figures who is interesting to be studied.
Visitors who don’t really know about Cleopatra can broaden their knowledge about the queen by watching hollywood film entitled ‘Cleopatra’ on a 3-meter wide screen. Cleopatra’s costume appearing in the film (worn by actress Elizabeth Taylor) is also displayed in the exhibition alongwith costumes appeared in opera and theatrical play at Teatreo dell'Opera, Roma, in 1985.
In addition to the Cleopatra thingy, there are many artifacts that shows remains of ancient civilization of Nile River in the exhibition. Among this artifacts are sculpture of Ibis bird, which is believed to be used in sacrifice rites to Isis Goddess, decorative plates that shows life of flora and fauna.
