TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Police Criminal Directorate has revealed a case of the hoarding of 13.4 tons of diesel fuel. The fuel was allegedly used to be sold to a number of factories in Cianjur regency.
“The method used by the perpetrators was by buying subsidized fuel from the gas stations at Rp6.900 per liter and then re-selling it to a number of factories at Rp9,000 per liter,” said Head of West Jakarta Public Relations Division Comr. Sr. Sulsitio Pudjo on Friday (5/6).
He added that by hoarding the fuel and reselling it to the factories that should use non-subsidized fuel, the perpetrators can reap benefits.
"From this action, the perpetrators reap benefits because of the price disparity. The subsidized fuel is priced at Rp6,900 per liter and the prices set for industries is at Rp12,500 per liter,” Pudjo said.
