TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s men’s double shuttlers Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan joined compatriots Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda (women’s double) and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (mixed double) in 2015 BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier semifinal.
Hendra/Ahsan overpowered Japanese pair Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa 21-16 and 21-16 in quarter final on Friday, June 5.
China’s Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan have awaited for Ahsan/Hendra in today’s semifinal. The Chinese pair are leading 3-2 in five encounters with the Indonesians. Hendra/Ahsan took defeat 21-18, 8-21 17-21 in the last encounter in April’s Singapore Open.
Learning from the lesson, Hendra promised to put pressures on their opponent from the beginning.
“We need to be more ready. No late focuses and we have to be in since from the beginning,” Hendra expressed his determination to win.
Only doubles are left as Indonesian representatives as the country’s single shuttlers have been ousted.
