TEMPO.CO, Bogor – The construction of a city forest park on Jl. Ahmad Yani, Tanah Sareal, Bogor city, has been left in abeyance. The Bogor City Administration through its Park and Sanitation Agency initially planned to establish the park as a green open space.
“The problem is because the aid fund from the province has been slashed,” Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto told Tempo on Monday, May 31, 2015.
Bima said the park construction would have been completed if the fund from the West Java government had not been cut back on.
“But since the fund is lowered, we have to seek an additional budget,” he said, adding that the construction would cost around Rp1.5 billion.
Bogor City Park and Sanitation Agency chief Yadi Cahyadi seconded the mayor’s statement. According to Yadi, the construction of the 1.2 hectare park required Rp3 billion.
“Referring to the DED (detailed engineered design), the total fund was in the neighborhood of Rp3 billion. But due to a deficit, the fund from the West Java Administration is lowered to Rp1.2 billion.
Yadi said the decreased budget was the cause of the temporary halt of the construction. “In the meantime we will take care of it by planting fruit trees,” he said.
