TEMPO.CO, Hyberabad – Hospitals in India have seen increased number of patients due to the extreme wave of heat within the last week. With a temperature reaching 45 degrees Celsius, India has seen 1,500 deaths over the past week.
The wave of heat occurs not only India, as Egypt is grappling with similar problems with its local Meteorology Agency cited and noted a temperature reaching 45 degrees Celsius.
The head of public information unit of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Fachri Radjab, said Thursday the Indian heat wave would last for five more days.
Fachri added chances were slim that the wave would strike Indonesia, saying there had been no indicators of atmosphere dynamics that could trigger such a wave.
