TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – City-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta has launched the Monas-Pekan Raya Jakarta Kemayoran route to welcome the 2015 Jakarta Fair (PRJ). The route is dedicated to those seeking to visit the capital’s annual exhibition event.
“The route will facilitate visitors,” PT Transportasi Jakarta president director Antonius N.S. Kosasih said in a release dated Thursday, May 28,2015.
Kosasih said the bus stop for the route was located right in front of the PRJ site and built in one month’s period in tandem with PT JIExpo as the event’s organizer.
The route officially opens on Friday, May 29, 2015—in conjunction with the launch of the 2015 Jakarta Fair. Kosasih said his company had prepared five buses to ply the route that would arrive every 10-15 minutes.
He added before arriving at the PRJ site the buses would stop at the Monas, City Hall, Gambir 2, Gambir 1, Istiqlal, Budi Utomo and Pasar Baru Timur shelters. When plying the opposite direction, he added, the buses would stop at Pasar Baru Timur, Juanda, Pecenongan and Monas shelters.
The 2015 Jakarta Fair, which will last from May 29-July 5, 2015, will open from 3:30-10 p.m., featuring some 2,700 companies and 1,500 stands. The ticket prices for the year’s event remain the same as those in previous ones: Rp 20,000 per ticket on Mondays; Rp25,000 per ticket from Tuesday to Wednesday; and Rp30,000 per ticket from Friday to Sunday.
Kosasih said the five buses would operate from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m.-11 p.m., and from 12 p.m.-10 p.m. on Sundays.
“The payment is done using e-ticketing, just like other routes,” he said.
