TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama decided to stop revitalization projects of a number of bus terminals in Jakarta. Ahok said that he was not satisfied with the results.
"The Jakarta administration is finding a way of working with private sectors to avoid losses," Ahok said at the City Hall on Thursday, May 28, 2015, adding that he no longer trusted consultants hired by Jakarta administration working units (SKPD).
Ahok said that the consultants were not performing well causing buildings to be unusable, such as those at Rawamangun terminal that brought no benefits for inter-provincial buses (AKAP).
Ahok then planned to work with private sectors and PT Transjakarta to resume the project.
"Seeking profits is not my goal, but this is for a better development," Ahok explained.
Earlier, the Jakarta administration had allocated Rp 286 billion (US$22 million) to revitalize seven bus terminals in Jakarta.
