Govt Set to Finalize E-Commerce Bill This Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government plans to finalize the drafting of a regulation on electronic commerce (e-commerce) this year. The bill is designated to protect online trade customers and business players.
The regulation draft (RPP), a follow-up to the Trade Act No.7/2014, is expected to be completed in conjunction with the e-commerce roadmap currently being discussed by relevant government institutions.
Tjahya Widayanti, head of the Trade Ministry's assessment and development division, said that that once the rule is applied it is expected that online trading will increase is due to easier access.
