BI Set Up Representative Office in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Hendar had met with Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama on Wednesday, 27, 2015, to discuss the launching of BI's new representative office in Jakarta.

"The meeting with Ahok [was held] to coordinate the plan to open a BI regional representative office in Jakarta," said Hendar.

Hendar said that Ahok had agreed to the plan and said that he will attend the launching event scheduled to be held on June 22, 2015.

Hendar said that through the office Bank Indonesia will focus on carrying its function in assisting the provincial government by providing advice and conduct researches to support the development of Jakarta's economy. The office will also cooperate with the Jakarta administration to control inflation rate.
