Aiding Boat People is in Accordance with Pancasila: Minister

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu claimed that the decision to assist Rohingya people is in accordance with Indonesian constitution, Pancasila. "Pancasila cites humanity matters," said Ryamizard.
As a nation that appreciates humanity. He said that Indonesian government must help Rohingya refugees. Indonesia cannot stand still and let the fleeing people floating on the ocean.
“Doing so, it means that Indonesia let them drown,” he said. "Therefore, we help them first; political matters come later," said Ryamizard.
“Do not let them die!" said Ryamizard.
Rohingya people decided to flee Myanmar, after undergoing years of oppression by the Buddhist majority. The refugees, most of them heading southeast, stuffed themselves on a tiny boat crossing the ocean with a hope for a safer land.
