Films About Social Issues to be Screened in International Event

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The People’s Creative Assembly to launch its first international film event called the International Film Festival for Family, Public Service, Against Drug Abuse, and Trafficking (Iffadat), on June 4 to 15 in Jakarta.
Iffadat Founder and Director, Damien Dematra, said that the thematic film festival is the first ever in the world that raises social issues as theme. The festival is held to mark International Family Day that falls on May 15, Global Day of Parents that falls on June 1, Public Service Day that falls on June 23, and the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking that falls on June 26.
According to Damien, more than 100 film from 30 countries have been collected. As many as 20 films will be selected to be screened in the festival days.
“Besides, the festival’s film selections will be screened at Bioskon Rakyat networks for the next one year,” Damien added.
