TEMPO.CO, Bogor - Bogor City Administration is set to evaluate hotel and building permits in the city, following complaints from residents. “There are about 13 hotels and commercial buildings, whose permit we will evaluate,” said Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto.

Among other constructions whose permit questioned are Whizz Hotel, Savero Hotel, and Botanical Apartment. “We also questioned Salak Tower permit in Taman Kencana, for reaching 20 stories high,” said Bima.

“The hotel is disturbing our privacy,” said Argon Bastari, 45, a resident. Moreover, the remaining gap between the 20-story hotel and local residence is only at 1.5 meter.

“There is no safe distabce between the site and residence. Therefore, it will become a threat if an earthquake hits,” he said.

Moreover, the locals also asked if such construction is allowed in the area. “This is a heritage area,” he said.
