TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo, Acting Deputy Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), said that the Commission will challenge the pre-trial decision that relieves former Chief of the Supreme Audit Agency Hadi Poernomo from his status as a suspect in a corruption case.
"[KPK] will study the complete copy of the decision, and then we will [challege it]," said Johan to Tempo through short text message on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
Judge Haswandi, who presides over the pretrial relieved Hadi from his suspect status by claiming that KPK's independent investigators has no legal standing and stated that any investigations, search efforts, and confiscation conducted by KPK's investigators are illegal.
Hadi was determined as a suspect by the KPK for an allegedly causing Rp. 375 billion of state losses by manipulating income tax report submitted by Bank Central Asia.
