Angkasa Pura Adds Third Runway in Soekarno-Hatta Airport

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II will soon acquire more lands on the northern side of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for the development of a third runway.

"The land acquisition we will soon carried out it in Tangerang," PT Angkasa Pura II CEO Budi Karya Sumadi told Tempo on Monday, May 25, 2015.

Budi said that the airport's development plan will incorporate a more efficient and effective design in order to accommodate higher number of passengers.

The new runway development is expected to be completed in 2017 and will be fully operational to accommodate 430,000 aircraft traffic in 2018. Angkasa Pura II will add and operate a fourth runway in 2024 as aircraft traffic is expected to reach 550,000 in 2025.
