TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo claimed that he plays no part in preparing his son’s wedding. “I wonder why media likes to cover marriage matter," said Jokowi.

Jokowi’s son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is set to marry Selvi Ananda on June 11 in a traditional Solonese reception. The couple met in 2009, when Selvi participated in Putra-Putri Solo and Gibran took part as jury.

The two later met in Singapore in 2010, when Selvi represented Solo promoting tourism. At that time, Gibran was in his study in the nation as well.

As for the most-anticipated wedding, Jokowi said he will appoint a spokesperson for the dealing with press matter. Moreover, it is first lady Iriana Jokowi that helps prepare the grand wedding.
