TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Athletics Federation (PB PASI) plans to send a number of Indonesian junior and senior athletes to train in Germany following an established cooperation with German’s athletic governing body Deutscher Leichtathletik Verband (DLV). The plan was revealed by PB PASI Chairman Bob Hasan when met with DLV CEO Frank Hense at DLV base in Darmstadt, Germany on May 19.
“PB PASI is hopeful that DLV can facilitate training, especially for athtletes in throwing category. But possibilities are open for other categories,” said Tigor M. Tanjung, PB PASI Secretary General as reported by PB PASI media team in Jakarta on Saturday.
“PB PASI has also officially invited German coaches to perform coaching clinic for one to two weeks, including bringing their best athletes as what was done in early 2015.”
In the meeting, PB PASI and DLV have agreed to the idea of making revision to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) service system. The system is considered as less accommodating interests of Asian countries.
