Slain Activist Jopi was a Jokowi-JK Volunteer, says Politician

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party politician, Indra J. Piliang, said that the slain activist of Sawit Watch, Jopi Peranginangin, 39 years old, who died because of stab wound on Venue night club, Kemang, South Jakarta, was one of the many volunteers of Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla in the last presidential election.
Jopi was also called one of the many volunteers who was reluctant to appear to the public. "He was actively supplying logistical campaign to the regions," said Indra at Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta, Saturday, May 23, 2015.
According to Indra, at the last presidential election, he often communicated with Jopi regarding with Jokowi-JK campaign purposes. However, said Indra, Jopi reluctant to join with the other volunteers of Jokowi-JK. "There are a lot of volunteers of Jokowi-JK like him (Jopi)," said Indra.
Indra went to see Jopi's body at the Pertamina Hospital, Jakarta. Indra said that he got the news about Jopi death on Saturday morning. Jopi's body will be autopsied at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, before interred in the House Alliance of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago, Jakarta.
Jopi was stabbed in the Venue night club, Kemang, South Jakarta, on 03:30am Saturday morning. Metro Police stated that Jopi died at 06:00am as a result of stab wound in the back right. From Tempo's observation, the wound penetrated to the chest. There were no other injuries such as bruises on Jopi's body.
