Economic Growth Cannot Depend on State Budget Only: Jokowi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo said that economic growth cannot depend on the State Budget only but it must also be supported by investment.

In connection to the matter, the President appraised Media Group leader Surya Paloh who has managed to invite PT China Sonangol Media Investment to make investment worth Rp. 8 trillion in Indonesia.

"I really appreciate Surya Paloh who has worked with China Sonangol to make a huge investment here and we hope that it can draw other investors to make investment in our country,” Jokowi said in the groundbreaking ceremony of Indonesia Satu Building in Jakarta on Saturday.

Indonesia Satu building is a twin building with 59 floors and has a height of 303 meters. It is located on Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Central Jakarta.

The construction of the building is done through cooperation between Media Group and China Sonangol.

The President hoped that the construction of the building would be followed by other investors; thus it can boost Indonesia’s economic growth.
