TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama expressed his disappointment towards city-owned Bank DKI during the inauguration of Lenggang culinary center at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta.
According to Ahok, Bank DKI was not capable of facilitating non-cash transaction at the event.
“Bank DKI was disappointing,” Ahok said in a speech at the event on Friday, May 22, 2014.
Ahok then praised Bank Mandiri for preparing all facilities for non-cash transactions at the event within two weeks. Ahok added that non-cash transactions would be helpful to record the profits gained by vendors and to provide them with loan assistance.
“Therefore I can provide vendors with capital they need. I am willing to distribute Rp1 trillion (US$76.9 million) loan if the management is solid,” Ahok said.
During the Lenggang Jakarta event, a total of 339 vendors have been registered at the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency. Most of the vendors have been verified and provided with training.
