World-Class Runners to Participate in Jakarta International 10K

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The sixth Jakarta International 10K is set to be held on May 31. The annual running event is said to gather at least 10 world’s elite runners and 20 national runners to compete for total prize worth Rp911 million.
“Jakarta International 10K will be attended by renowned world-class runners, among others are Charles Wachira Maina from Kenya and Fredrick Kipchumba Nheny also from Kenya,” said Head of DKI Jakarta Sport and Youth Agency Zaenal Soleman at Jakarta Town Hall on Friday, May 22.
Other participating world-class runners are, according Soleman, Hunegnaw Mesfin Alemu (Ethiopia), Silas Kiputro (Kenya), Eric Ndiema (Kenya), Margaret Wamahida Muringi (Kenya), Maryanne Wangari Wanajiru (Kenya), Fatna Mabaoui (Italy), and Atsede Habtamu Besuye (Ethiopia), along with runners from twin city Tokyo and Beijing.
In the same occassion, the Deputy Secretary of Indonesia Athletic Federation (PB PASI), Sri Hastuti Merdiko said national runners who will participate in the international run are those who are not assigned for 2015 SEA Games.
