TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police's Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim) will investigate two suspects, identified only by their initials MJ and S, for allegedly forging mandate documents of the Functional Group Party. However, both suspects have yet to answer the police's summons.
"We're still waiting [for the suspects to show up]," National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Agus Rianto told Tempo on Thursday, May 21, 2015.
Based on testimonials from witnesses and a number of evidences, MJ and S had allegedly falsified signatures of Golkar secretary and the party's regional representative deputy chairman in order to validate their votes in the national congress held by Agung Laksono's camp.
Previously, police named two suspects, HB and DY from West Sumatera and Banten on April 6, 2015. The case erupted after Golkar Party’s executive board led by Aburizal Bakrie filed a report to Bareskrim on March 11, 2015.
Aburizal accused Agung Laksono's camp of falsifying mandate documents to attend Agung camp's national congress in Ancol, North Jakarta, in early December 2014. The document forgery was exposed when a deceased cadre’s signature was found in the document.
