JCI Opens Tuesday with 0.25% Gain

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) gained 12.62 points (0.25 percent) to 5,153.76 bps during today's opening bell. The LQ45 is also moving up, inching by 3.20 points (0.36 percent) to 888.22 bps.
Samuel Sekuritas analyst Akhmad Nurcahyadi said that investors believe April 2015's 0.36 percent inflation is still in line with previous projections; able to maintain the index rate at a positive zone.
"Market players are now waiting for the latest data on 2015 first quarter's GDP," he said.
Nevertheless, Akhmad said the JCI is still prone to correction, particularly if investors decided to profit from the price gains of several domestic stocks.
Meanwhile, NH Korindo Securities Indonesia chief researcher Reza Priyambada said the JCI's rebound is technical and temporary. He suggests investors to remain wary for a possible reversal if Q1's GDP data fell below market expectations.
For today, Reza projects the JCI to move between 5,095 and 5,182 bps.
