Jokowi Inaugurates IPC Corporate University

TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Joko Widodo officially opened Tuesday the Indonesia Port Corporation (IPC) Corporate University in Ciawi, Bogor. This campus was established in 2013. 

"This university is not only a center for learning and services, but also a center for maritime knowledge,"said Jokowi on Tuesday.

IPC Corporate University is one of state-owned port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) II's subsidiaries. Its aim is to become a center of knowledge on harbors, maritime affairs and logistics. The programs offered are oriented to container terminals, non-container terminals, marine services and logistics.

This campus consists of six buildings for classrooms, warehouse simulation, ballroom, residence, simulator and administration.

It also cooperates with several national and international universities, such as IMD Business School, STC-BV, Kuhne Lofistic University, University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Sriwijaya University, Gadjah Mada University and Hasanuddin University.

Jokowi was accompanied by State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, Coordinating Economic Minister Sofyan Djalil, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto, House Setya Novanto, People's Legislative Assembly (MPR) speaker Zulkifli Hasan, Regional Representatives Council (DPD) chairman Irman Gusman and Pelindo president director R. J. Lino.
