TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso, Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) at the National Police, said that he has planned to summon Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama as a witness in relation to the suspected graft case surrounding the procurement of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in the 2014 State Budget.
"I don't think there will be a problem. Ahok will be questioned as a witness," Budi said on Monday, May 04, 2015, in Jakarta.
In addition to Ahok, Bareskrim will also question a number of the Jakarta City Hall employees as witnesses.
However, Budi clarified that the questioning will be conducted at the Jakarta administration's office instead of at the National Police Headquarter. According to Budi, Bareskrim will coordinate with Ahok to arrange the questioning so that they would not disrupt the governor's works and his staffs'.
Budi explained that the questionings were related to the case's development. Budi said that investigators will announce other names after earlier naming Alex Usman and Zaenal Soleman, officials responsible for the UPS procurement at the West Jakarta and Central Jakarta Education Sub Agencies, as suspects.
