TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Education Agency head Arie Budiman revealed that only one junior high school in Jakarta that is prepared to hold the computer-based national examinations this year.
“Since it’s initiated this year, only SMP Penabur 2 that holds the computer-based exams,” said Arie.
According to Arie, SMP Penabur 2 is the only school that meets the requirements to hold the computer-based national exams. Arie added that schools must be verified and approved by the Education and Culture Ministry in order to administer the computer based exams.
However, Arie explained, here would be no discriminations against the schools that conduct manual examinations.
“[The method of examinations] won’t affect the schools. Hopefully there would be more schools that are able to administer computer based examinations,” Arie said.
Arie revealed that schools are required to provide a certain amount of computers with a computer-student ratio of 1:3, in order to administer computer-based examinations. In addition schools must have a reliable internet connection that passes the network test to support the examination software.
