TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Komaidi Notonegoro, energy observer from the Refor Minter Institute, said he hoped the development of the Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) could finish on time as energy infrastructure development is often delayed.
"I hope this one can finish faster because Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla government focuses on refinery development," he said on Sunday.
Komaidi continued that if the refinery infrastructure is on time, the government can save import cost for fuel procurement. "Import of crude oil and oil products have a large difference".
Komaidi pointed out that when oil price reached US$100 per barrel, the price difference between the two product was US$30 per barrel. If the refinery construction is late, national fuel supply will not be disrupted because oil is procured through import.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said scheduled the development the first phase of FRCC oil refinery to finish in June 2015. FRCC is refinery modernization to increase the value of oil products, such as Pertamax, Propylene and some other products.
RFCC is located at Pertamina Refinery Unit IV Cilacap complex. Sudirman this unit contributes 30 percent of national fuel supply.
