TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini won at least six awards both from the central government and other institutions this week.
The awards were given for the acknowledgment and appreciation for her works.
Head of Surabaya City Government Public Relations Division Muhammad Fikser said almost every day since last Monday, Risma has gone back and forth from Surabaya to Jakarta to receive the awards.
"We are grateful that what Surabaya city government has received appreciation from many parties,” Fikser said on Friday.
He also said that awards include the regional autonomy award from Home Affairs Ministry, the best city award in the management of city spatial from the Home Affairs Ministry, and the Satya Lencana Karya Bakti Praja Nugraha award from President Joko Widodo.
Risma also received the reform figure award from Republika daily and the Digital Society award as well as other awards from other institutions.
Commenting on the awards that she has received, Risma said that the she was grateful for the awards that she received. She also realized that awards are dedicated to Surabaya residents.
The awards, she said, are in fact challenges for all both the city government and the residents to be better in the future.
