TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama said that he was not aware of police search conducted at the Jakarta Legislative Council.
“I didn’t know [about the search]. It’s a police affair,” Ahok said on Monday April 27, 2015 at City Hall.
Despite the unawareness, Ahok said that he supported the police investigation into a graft case related to the procurement of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units. Ahok revealed that he would not object police investigation into related working units under his administration.
Earlier on Monday, April 27, 2015, the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) searched the offices of councilors Abraham “Lulung” Lunggana and Fahmi Zulfikar, in connection with a UPS graft case.
“The UPS case investigation team is conducting a search,” Sr. Comr. M. Ikram, head of corruption crime unit at National Police’s Bareskrim, told Tempo on Monday.
Bareskrim had summoned Lulung and Fahmi to be probed on Monday, but Lulung was in Manado, South Sulawesi, to attend an occasion held by the United Development Party Manado chapter. As a result, Ikram added, police will make another call for Lulung.
