TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Syaiful Hidayat will require all apartment operators to submit residents data, in order to monitor hidden prostitutions and drugs distributions.
“We have informed mayors and their staff to collect data of apartment residents,” Djarot said at Halim Perdana Kusuma on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
According to Djarot, the exclusivity of apartments has made it difficult for public to monitor the occupants. The new regulation will apply to all types of apartments, ranging from the luxurious to the standard ones.
Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono said that he has formed a special team to conduct an investigation into online prostitutions. The team has been specifically assigned to monitor and investigate apartememtns.
“The team will work under the General Crime Directorate,” Unggung explained.
Earlier, the Jakarta Police’s Children and Women Crime Investigation Directorate raided a location at Kalibata City, South Jakarta for allegedly linked to online prostitution practice. The raid was conducted after an investigation into a website that was linked to the location.
