TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The height of Bengawan Solo’s river surface in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, is starting to drop although the status is still in Level II on Sunday, 13:00 local time.
“The water height in Bojonegoro has started to lower since 07.00. But in Tuban, Lamongan up to Gresik, it continues to increase because the effect of water from Bojonegoro,” said Jayadi, a post attendant of Bengawan Solo Water Management Technical Executive Unit (UPT) on Sunday, as quoted by Antara news.
The Operational Section head of the UPT in Bojonegoro, Mucharom, predicted that the height will get lower along the upstream region if the rain did not fall. But in other parts, such as downstream Bojonegoro, Tuban, Lamongan, and Gresik, the water will decrease slower due to hide tide of the sea.
Puddle of water caused by the overflowing of Bengawan Solo river have submerged hundreds of hectares of paddy field in several villages.
