TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Said Didu, Special Staff of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, said that the dismissal of Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral) will not immediately cause fuel prices to drop. Said explained that one of the certain effects of Petral dismissal would be a more transparent fuel procurement process.
"At least [fuel procurement] can be transparent, and open to public," Said said at his office on Friday, April 24, 2015.
Said added that with the presence of an Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) fuel prices would not immediately drop because there are many variables that must be calculated. The problem is, according to Said, the Premium type fuel is a product of Pertamina's inefficient oilrig.
Said hoped that cooperation State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister and Pertamina would be strong enough to actually dismiss Petral. "The idea to dismiss Petral has been announced for a long time, but it never happens," Said said.
