Angklung Performed in Front of Heads of States

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Thousands of Angklung, traditional musical instrument from West Java, were played in front of state leaders and delegations of the 60th Asia Africa Conference at the Merdeka Building, Bandung. Some of the state leaders who were seen enjoying the music were Malaysian Prime Minister Nazib Razak and his wife and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The angklung performance was conducted by Saung Angklung Udjo and Padjajaran Universty choir. The song they played was Halo-Halo Bandung.
The angklung performance was included in the main event of the AAC at Merdeka Building. Before the performance, Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil read the Dasasila Bandung (Ten Fundamentals of Bandung) in front of the delegations.
The agenda for delegations and state leaders began at 09:20am Western Indonesia Time, with the Historical Walk where AAC participants walked from the Savoy Homann Hotel to the Merdeka Building.
