TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Transportasi Jakarta President Director Antonius Kosasih said Transjakarta buses will remain operational on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, despite main road closures during the Asia-Africa Conference (AAC).
“The [road] closures are situational. It means the road won’t be closed the whole day,” Antonius told Tempo on Tuesday, April 22, 2015.
The Jakarta Police’s Traffic Directorate announced that it will close several main roads, such as Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Rasuna Said and Gatot Soebroto at 06:30-10:00, 17:00-18:30 and 19:00-22:00.
In addition, PT Transjakarta will apply several changes for Corridor 1 (Blok M-Kota), Corridor 2 (Pulo Gadung-Harmoni), and Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti-Pluit).
“The changes will be in effect at 06:00-09:00, 16:00-18:00 and 19:00-22:00,” Transjakarta spokesperson Sri Ulina said in a press release.
Sri Explained services in Corridor 1 would significantly slow down due to situational road closures administered by the Jakarta Police and the Transportation Agency. Meanwhile, the service for Corridor 2 would remain normal at 16:00-22:00.
The service in Corridor 6 (Ragunan-Dukuh Atas) was also predicted to slow down due to the situational closures. The Ragunan-Monas route will be temporarily removed and changed to Ragunan-Dukuh Atas at 06:00-09:00 and 16:00-22:00. The service for this route will resume to normal at 09:00-16:00.
Meanwhile for Corridor 9 from Pinang Ranti to Pluit, the Transjakarta services will be suspended at Cikoko Stasiun Cawang, Tebet BKPM, Pancoran Tugu, Pancoran Barat, Tegal Parang, Kuningan Barat, Gatot Subroto Jamsostek, Gatot Subroto LIPI, Semanggi, Senayan JCC and Slipi Petamburan shelters. PT Transportasi Jakarta also suggested passengers not to make transits at Kuningan Barat and Kuningan Timur shelters. In addition the PGC-Grogol Route will enter Cawang Toll Gate and exit from Slipi Toll Gate.
