Oxtail Soup, Kapau Rice to be Served During AAC Event

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The organizer of the 60th Commemoration of the Asia-Africa Conference (AAC) has decided to showcase Indonesian traditional cuisine throughout the duration of the event. jakarta Convention Centre's Director for Catering, M. Sulaeman Nur said that delegates and representatives of Heads of States and/or Governments from 92 countries will continue be presented with Indonesian traditional foods - including during the lunches hosted by President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo during the Summit, which is scheduled for April 22-23, 2015.

"The menu for April 22 will consists of chicken spring rolls and oxtail soup as appetisers, whereas a traditional rijstaffel will be served as the main course. Dessert will consist of a Manadonese klapertaart and ice cream," said Sulaeman at the Jakarta Convention Centre on Monday.

Sulaeman added that during the bilateral meetings of April 23, nasi kapau will be served as the main dish. "Egg, tofu, and a spicy-and-sour rib stew will be served as appetisers. The spiciness of the kapau rice will be adjusted to accommodate the palates of the foreign delegates, while dessert will come in the form of a Betawi mud cake," he said, before adding that the menus were specifically requested by the Palace, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministry for Information and Technology as the main organisers of the event.

"They have requested us to showcase Indonesia's traditional cuisine through the lunch sets crafted for the Heads of States and delegates," finished Sulaeman.
