TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari has invited Indonesia to join the international anti-terrorism coalition.
“We hope Indonesia will join this coalition as many countries, such as China and Iran, have worked together to fight this challenge,” said Jaafari during the Asian-African Senior Official Meeting in Jakarta on Sunday.
He also spoke about the possibility to enhance economic cooperation about Indonesia. “Firstly, the cooperation with Indonesia that needs improvement is economic cooperation,” said Jaafari.
He said that cooperation in multiple fields, especially in economy, could be initiated by both countries with Indonesia as the producing country.
The 60th commemoration of the Asia-Africa Conference is held in Jakarta and Bandung on April 19-24 and will be attended by 32 heads of states and 86 state representatives, including from China, North Korea, Iran, Myanmar, Sudan, Egypt and Palestine.
