Jokowi to Hold 18 Bilateral Meetings During AAC

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has scheduled 18 bilateral meetings with head of states during the 60th commemoration of the Asia-Africa Conference on April 19-24, 2015.

“There will be 18 bilateral meetings, but it’s not definitive,” Presidential Chief of Staff Luhut Pandjaitan said at the Jakarta Convention Center on Sunday, April 19, 2015.

Luhut shortstopped when he was asked about the countries to meet with the Indonesian government. However, he confirmed that Chinese and Japanese leaders will meet Jokowi.

The bilateral meetings, Luhut said, will be held on April 21-23, 2015 at the Jakarta Convention Center.

Foreign Affairs Minister Retnu Marsudi said the Indonesian government is making necessary arrangement to accommodate all of the bilateral meetings. The government will also hold nformal meeting with leaders, including with members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OCI).

“We are arranging bilateral meetings. In addition, there will be informal meeting among presidents, vice presidents and members of the OCI,” Retno said.

Retno added that The AAC commemorative summit has been started today with senior officer meeting to discuss three priority issues, such as Bandung Conference, New Asia-Africa strategic partnership and Declaration of Palestine.
