TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena has inform the cancellation of his attendance to the 60th commemoration of the Asian African Conference (AAC), citing domestic problems in his country as the reason.

Previously, South African President Jacob Zuma also cancelled his attendance the event, which is to be held in Jakarta and Bandung from April 22 to 24, 2015.

Ahmad Rusdi, Director General of Protocol and Consular of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  on Sunday said said that Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to attend the event.

Previously, President Sirisena said that he would attend the event, as his country was one of the initiators of the Asian African Conference in 1955.  For the record, at least 31 heads of states and heads of countries and delegates from 89 countries are slated to attend the 60th commemoration of the Asian African Conference.
