Jokowi to Deliver Keynote Speech on WEF Meeting

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's newly elected president Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will give his keynote speech on the 24th World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia, which is scheduled to take place in Jakarta on April 19 to April 21, 2015.
The meeting will be attended by 700 participants from 40 different countries around the world, including 180 CEOs and chairpersons, and 40 ministers and international organization representatives.
The WEF meeting wil cover three aspects, including the new citizens context, new economic context, and new regional context.
The new citizens context will be aimed at identifying potential solutions to address emerging societal problems, while the new economic context will be focusing on finding new opportunities as well as identifying possible hurdles that may affect economic growth. Meanwhile, the new regional context will evaluate developments and progress in the filed of regional cooperation and highlighting geopolitical tension that may hamper such process.
In addition, the meeting will also discuss efforts to address some of 10 global challenges identified by the Forum, which include: agriculture and food security; economic growth and social inclusion; employment, skills and human capital; environment and resource security; international trade and investment; infrastructure, long term investing and development; future of the internet; future of the global financial system; gender parity; global crime and anti-corruption.
