TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Four of Indonesian representatives are set to play at the Singapore Open semifinal later today after passing the quarter final match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday. They are Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwandi (men’s double), Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (mixed-doubles), Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (Men’s double), and Simon Santoso (Men’s Single).

Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir became the last Indonesian representatives who joined their compatriots after taking down host country’s shuttlers Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Yu Yan Vanessa Neo 21-10 dan 21-14. The Indonesian mixed-double aces needed only 31 minutes to claim their victory. Tontowi/Liliyana will play against longtime rival Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei from China on semifinal.

Simon Santoso won easy over Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in two straight sets 21-10 and 21-19 to meet Japan’s Kento Momota.

Indonesian men’s double Angga/Ricky shocked the stadium by taking down first-seeded Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong in two straight sets 21-19 dan 21-18. Angga/Ricky will be facing Hiroyuki Endo/Kenichi Hayakawa of Japan on semifinal.

Other men’s double representatives, Ahsan/Hendra beat their compatriot Ade Yusuf/Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira 21-12 dan 21-16 in the quarter to claim their semifinal ticket. The 2015 Malaysia Open winners are set to play China’s Tiongkok Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan.
