TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Men’s double shuttlers Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan had finally confirmed their victory in the 2015 Malaysia Open as they survived the world’s number one doubles Lee Yong-dae/Yoo Yeon-seong from South Korea 14-21, 21-15, 23-21 in the final at Putra stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday, April 5.
Despite of putting on pressure toward the South Korean pair early in the game, Ahsan/Hendra lost the first set to the South Korean, but came back with strong smashes to win the second set.
The decider was tough as both sides were catching up with each other until it was equal 20-20. Luckily for the Indonesians, their opponents did unforced error at the last minutes resulting in 23-21 for Ahsan/Hendra.
In addition to the title, Ahsan and Hendra are eligible for cash prize of US$39,500.
