TEMPO.CO, Bandung – Communication and Information Minister Rudiantara said the registration for journalists seeking to cover the 60th anniversary commemoration of the Asia Africa Conference (AAC) had been closed. “Around 1,300 foreign and domestic journalists have been registered,” said Rudiantara on Thursday.
Rudiantara said the committee planned to filter the journalists allowed to cover the event to adjust to the capacity of media center, which would be placed at the Jakarta Convention Center for only 1,000 people. “This mid-April, we will speak with the media in Jakarta about the arrangement,” he said.
Three locations have been chosen as places where journalists can gather during AAC in Bandung: New Majestic building, Kimia Farma building and Ibis Hotel in Braga.
According to Rudiantara, his ministry will also provide several facilities for journalists, such as broadband Internet. In Bandung, for example, along Historical Walk route for heads of states from Merdeka Building, there will be Internet network with speed up to 100 Mbps.
During the rehearsal for AAC in Bandung, presidential chief of staff Luhut Binsar Panjaitan asked about the locations for journalists to capture the moments during the Historical Walk.
Several locations have been considered along Asia-Africa street, such as setting up a stage at the pavement right across the entrance of the Asia-Africa Building and the pedestrian bridge on Asia-Africa street. “It has to be arranged well so that the event can be well-covered,” said Luhut.
